First and foremost, Korea was originally spelled “Corea.” http://articles.latimes.com/2003/sep/15/world/fg-corea15
For those who are unaware of what is going on in Corea and Japan, Corean Comfort Women were women who were forcibly raped during World War II. According to an article on CNN, the Mayor of Osaka, Japan, said that the use of “comfort women” were necessary and that anyone would understand the role of “comfort women” when soldiers were risking their lives and that the Japanese soldiers deserved “rest.” http://edition.cnn.com/2014/01/26/world/asia/comfort-woman-dies/index.html?hpt=hp_c4
On another note, the United States called for Japan’s apology over comfort women. However, it is expected that Japan will not sit still. http://www.koreabang.com/2014/stories/u-s-law-calls-for-japan-to-apologize-over-comfort-women.html
It’s a tragedy what happened to comfort women back in World War II. The issue is real and will not go away. It will be nice and comforting to see this issue be resolved in a peaceful, civilized, and mature way, as to not offend and disrespect the so called “comfort women” any more than already has been done so.
